Daniel Rion

In 1955, Daniel Rion founded this family-run estate which was initial two-hectare vineyard in Vosne Romanée and was inhereted from his grandfather. Until 1978, he sold his wine to Burgundian negociants.

In the late 1970s the vineyards were extended and measure now 18 hectares spread over six villages in Burgundy's Cote de Nuits appellation amongst other Vosne Roamnee, Nuits St. Georges and Clos de Vougeot. The vines range in age from 25 to 60 years and harvest is done manually,

The wines are rated high, by for example Jancis Robinson and Tim Atkin.
