A stunning offering from one of Fronsac’s most consistent overachievers, this inky/blue/purple-tinged 2005 offers up aromas of black raspberries, crushed rocks, spring flowers, earth, and spice. Superior concentration, medium to full body, beautiful integration of acidity and tannin, and a 30+ second finish result in an impressive Fronsac.
Fresh and floral, with blackberry, violet and light cedar character. Full and caressing, with a beautiful, silky texture and a long, caressing finish. A lovely young wine.
Deep crimson. Great texture though not a great deal of flavour – as though it’s trying to taste as though it comes from a rather more fashionable appellation. Smooth and beautifully worked though it needs a little more acidity perhaps. (JR)
