The 2023 growing season for Chianti Classico proved challenging throughout Tuscany. A rainy spring was followed by a warmer, drier summer, which allowed the Sangiovese grapes to catch up in ripening. For Antinori’s “Tenuta Tignanello Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva,” careful selection of grapes in the vineyards proved more important than in previous years. The 2023 vintage is distinguished not only by its refined flavor with pronounced notes of red berries and herbs, for which this winery is renowne, but also by the freshness brought about by the cool weather at the start of the season.
