Once again there is a plethora of floral elements adding elegance to the nose of cool and restrained aromas that also include an exotic tea component. There is a bit more size, weight and volume to the more powerful, and more mineral-inflected, larger-scaled flavors that terminate in a serious, youthfully austere and built-to-age finale. This is a classically styled Richebourg of robust power and punch.
Garnet with a light orange rim. Very immediate fruit at first then a reductive element takes over. The fruit does start to build a little better and there is concentration. Still, the fruit is in a leaner. Less ripe mode. Some quality and length to the aftertaste. With fifteen minutes in the glass this turns into a very fine wine, though on the less ripe side. Drink from 2029-2036.
