The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it explodes from the glass with loads of spicy sparks—cinnamon, cardamom, Sichuan pepper and cloves—with a core of blackcurrant cordial, warm blueberries and boysenberries plus wafts of cedar chest, tilled soil and stewed tea. Full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with fantastic length.
Winespectator / James Suckling (94)
JS: Dark-berry and spice character with dried herbs. Extremely aromatic. A full-bodied red on the palate with very dialed-in fruit and hints of violets and mint. Long and sophisticated. Hard to resist.

Antonio Galloni: The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon... Black plum, gravel, spice, and new leather are beautifully layered in the glass. The 2016 offers a striking interplay of Calistoga power and explosive energy, all while maintaining terrific brightness for such a big wine. There is a lot to like here.
