Made by Berene Sauls, who started work at Hamilton Russell at the age of 19 as an au pair having had no exposure to wine. She soon switched to working in the office and then worked her way to winemaking.
Initially quite mealy and spicy with fresh pear and citrus under that outer layer. Richly fruity on the palate but the fruit sweetness and the bright acidity don't seem fully meshed yet. Needs another year at least in bottle for greater harmony. Rich but fresh. (JH)
