Notes of ripe cherries, red plums and chocolate with sweet orange peel and spices. Medium body. Firm and chalky with grainy tannins and fresh red berry character. Dry and linear finish.

The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino is impossible to ignore, wafting up with a mentholated freshness that gives way to hauntingly dark florals and crushed blackberries. It's soothingly round and supple with ripe red fruits and cooling acidity as a flourish of sweet spice emerges toward the close. It leaves a licorice and a bitter balsamic tinge while maintaining a lovely freshness. Fanti did a wonderful job with the dry warmth of the vintage. I'm looking forward to tasting this Brunello in a few years.
