The best wines from Chevalier-Montrachet

Chevalier-Montrachet is a Grand Cru vineyard situated on the Mont-Rachet hill in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune. It is completely planted with Chardonnay. The vineyard received Grand Cru status in 1937 and is known to make structured, full-bodied white wines.

Chevalier-Montrachet is situated on the highest point of the Grand Cru vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. It is situated on the southeast-facing mid-slope of Mont-Rachet. The soil here are thinner than that of Montrachet, with a higher marl content which enhances drainage and promotes the growth of deep and strong vine roots. The estate receives direct morning sunlight, which contributes to the grapes concentration and quality.

Chevalier-Montrachet has been cultivated with grapes for generations and was named after the son of a local nobleman. Chevalier-Montrachet wines are renowned for their balanced blend of rich fruit, lively acidity and distinct minerality. Domaine Leflaive, Jean-Claude Domaine Ramonet and Domaine des Comtes Lafon are among the most well-known Chevalier-Montrachet producers.
