Prince Florent de Merode
The Mérode family historically owned significant vineyard holdings in Corton (particularly Corton Clos du Roi, Bressandes, and Renardes). In 2009, these vineyards were placed under long-term rental and management by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), meaning the wines are now produced and bottled by DRC using Mérode vineyard fruit. Prior to this arrangement, wines were bottled under the Mérode name, often traditional and understated in style. The key significance today is the vineyard heritage, not an active standalone estate label.
