Seductive Burgundy. Racy yet thick, full of ripe fruit and supple tannins, a mouthful of pleasure from start to finish, bursting with blackberries and chocolate notes. Full-bodied, with a soft midpalate and a silky finish.
Mid crimson. Surprisingly deep crimson – real life to the look of it. Gamey and exotic and rich on the nose – a really lovely surprise. Very sweet and flattering. Loose – the tannins have all melted – but a really superb drink now. Very flattering and with more guts than many of its peers from this vintage. For perfection perhaps one would want more acid and tannin, but not if you wanted to drink it tonight!
