70% whole bunch, from vines planted in 1970. Solid rich purple. The nose has not quite the same density and personality as the Faconnières – which would be difficult to achieve. Arrow straight here, more linear, showing the limestone in the finish. More complex than I first thought.
This too is moderately reduced and tough to evaluate today. More interesting are the super-sleek and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere, focused, linear and strikingly long and chiseled finish. This isn't as dense as the Faconnières but it's finer and should prove to be just as age worthy. Once to look for.
