This is the stuff! Esoteric, earthy, expressive and elemental. Dried red fruits on the palate. Long, spicy length with an animal sort of muskiness about it. No uncleanliness – this is very much the terroir talking. (RH)
Jasper Morris MW: Cuvée du Chêne’. From vines planted in 1961. No great density of colour but there is a heavenly nose nonetheless, roses, strawberry, pretty good weight behind, softer finish, fairly good length. Does this quite kick on?
