Jasper Morris (95)

Just a little darker in colour. The bouquet is possibly less exuberant than the Latricières but indicates greater depth. A bramblier fruit, fills the mouth, a little oak comes up behind, still a few tannins to resolve. Fresh plums in the mix. Drink from 2029-2040.

Burghound (93)

There is a crushed leaf character that stops short of being vegetal on the equally cool and reticent nose of forest floor, wild red berries and spice elements, all of which is trimmed in an equally subtle touch of wood. There is a bit more volume and noticeably more power to the intensely mineral-driven larger-bodied flavors that deliver excellent length on the more complex bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. This is a classically styled Chambertin that is going to require extended patience.

Vinous (94)

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru has a refined bouquet with pure red berry fruit, touches of clove and crushed stone, unfurling with each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with some oak to be assimilated, a touch of dark chocolate filtering through the red fruit. Impressive length. This is a very refined and almost understated Chambertin.
