Domaine de La Vougeraie is a family owned estate where it all started in 1964 with the purchase of a plot of Les Evocelles in Gevrey-Chambertin. Over the years, more plots were added from Vougeot and Côte de Beaune, in 1996 some vineyards were acquired around Beaune and finally the monopole Le Clos Blanc was acquired.
The estate is split between the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, and the heart of it all is the legendary monopole Vougeot Premier Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot.
Winemaking for Domaine de la Vougeraie is based on revealing terroir. The estate has been practicing organic winegrowing since the beginning and gradullay moved to a biodynamic approach.
Fermentation takes place in wooden vats and the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts.
Wines are aged between 12-18 months (20% new oak).
Domaine the Vougeraie offers 4 Monopoles, 9 Grand Crus, 10 premier crus and some villages and appelation Bourgogne.
The Grand Cru wines score high in the 90's.
