The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières comes from two parcels that total 2.6-hectares, one generous and the other more acid-driven. It has an attractive bouquet: toffee apple, hints of walnut oil and linseed, not intense but it does gather momentum in the glass. The palate is well balanced with an overtly tropical opening, quite honeyed in style and perhaps the richness erases some of the terroir expression on the finish. A Meursault of pleasure in lieu of intellect?
Lush and creamy, featuring peach, lemon cake, honey and spice flavors. Balanced and expressive, with a long, smooth aftertaste that evokes hints of orange and mineral.
