Robert Parker (97)

Fermented slowly and thus vinified for almost two years in a 1,500-liter oak vat, the 2018 Loibner Grüner Veltliner Reserve is intensely fruity, spicy and elegant on the nose that shows a fine and spicy botrytis aroma. Full-bodied, round and elegant on the palate, this is a rich and intense but also fine, mineral, vital and tensioned Veltliner with stimulating salinity on the finish. A great wine with five grams per liter of residual sugar. It's baroque on the first impression, but toward the finish, this becomes finer and finer and even more fresh and substantial. Tasted in the Wachauer Stube in June 2021.

James Suckling (95)

An enormously concentrated gruner veltliner with tons of dried exotic fruit, chamomile and dried spice. Gigantic power and weight for this "cool-climate" wine region, but it doesn't taste hot or overblown. The first vintage of this wine under this name.
