Hazelburn 7 years Old Oloroso Cask Matured 47.9% 2018

This whiskey, distilled in 2018 at the Hazelburn distillery in Campbeltown and bottled at 47.9% ABV, was aged for all 7 years exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks. Since Hazelburn is a non-peated malt whiskey produced at the Springbank distillery using a triple distillation process, it is not a smoky flavor but the aroma of sherry that comes to the fore in this drink. At its core are nuances reminiscent of the sea breeze characteristic of Campbeltown, overlaid with notes of Oloroso that evoke dried fruits and nuts. This is a “single cask” style whisky.
