The 2023 Syrah Hudson Vineyard is a huge, powerful wine. Layers of intense dark red/purplish fruit, sage, game, rose petal, lavender and blood orange infuse the palate. Rich and rather tightly coiled at this stage, the 2023 is a very young wine that needs time to come together. Today, it is impenetrable. This is cold-climate Syrah in a cold vintage. Readers will have to be patient here. I have seen these wines blossom with time in bottle, and I suspect that will be the same here.
