The 1999 Vosne-Romanee Vieilles Vignes was harvested at 28 hectoliters per hectare and is produced from vines averaging over 70 years of age. It displays roasted and grilled black cherry aromas and a muscular, medium-bodied personality. This big, chewy, roasted wine is crammed with lush cherries, blackberries, and cassis. It is highly concentrated and extracted, and will require some cellaring.
