This is nothing short of legend in a bottle. As the story goes, this particular blend boasts a significant percentage of the fabled Malt Mill—a distillery that closed its doors in 1960 and once graced the grounds of Lagavulin. To sip this is to hold a piece of whisky history in your hands.

The origins of White Horse Distillers date back to 1880, when James Logan Mackie founded the firm. Just four years later, a stake in Lagavulin was secured, setting the stage for whisky greatness. It was here that James’ nephew, Peter Mackie, honed his craft. By 1891, Peter launched the now-iconic White Horse blend—a whisky that would cement its place in the pantheon of Scotch. After Mackie’s passing in 1924, the company reorganized, became part of DCL in 1927, and would later narrow its focus to export markets. Though dissolved by Diageo in 2010, White Horse's legacy endures.

This particular bottle from the 1950s showcases the timeless Spring-Cap closure. It’s an old vintage, and the years may have taken their toll on the seal—so handle with care. We’ve treated the closure with parafilm to preserve it in its prime condition. A genuine collector’s item, steeped in history and ready to transport you to a bygone era of Scotch whisky.
