The 2023 Mâcon-Fuissé Les Bruyères comes from vines on blue-schist soil. This is more backward on the nose with light resin and lanolin scents. Fine delineation but bashful at the moment. The palate is well balanced and linear, leaning more towards the malic style with a liberal sprinkling of white pepper on the finish. It finishes with gusto, though overall I lean towards the Mâcon-Chaintré Les Serreuxdières this year.
