El Hombre Bala 2023 Uvas Felices

El Hombre Bala 2023 is grown in the hilly region of Sierra de Gredos, west of Madrid and is produced under the Uvas Felices brand in partnership with Comando G. This partnership began in 2010. The vineyard is planted with old vines and is managed by hand and with the help of horses; only sulfur is used for soil treatment, and manure from cows and the horses is used as fertilizer. About half of the harvest comes from vineyards cultivated by the team itself, while the rest is sourced from local grape growers in the region.

2023 was a somewhat cool year in this part of Spain, and that was reflected in the wine. It is characterized by more vibrant fruit aromas, high freshness, and a lighter character than is typically expected from Garnacha. Furthermore, in 2023, after five years of organic farming, clear progress was seen in the team's own vineyards (certification has not yet been obtained, but the paperwork is in process).

If you serve this wine slightly chilled to around 14-16°C, its flavor will be reminiscent of a red wine from a mountainous region rather than a typical Mediterranean wine. This wine is best enjoyed by 2032.
