Touchstone 2022 is a single-varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape variety grown in Oregon, managed by Rose & Arrow Estate. Beneath the estate's vineyards lies a layer of volcanic rock, and this stony minerality is consistently present throughout the wine, complemented by aromas of dry violets and black cherries. On the palate, it is silky and refreshing, characterized by lively, vibrant acidity and a long finish with subtle spicy nuances.
The 2022 vintage got off to an unfortunate start, as the region was hit by devastating frost damage. Although relatively cool weather followed, a warm, dry summer (Indian), which began in September and lasted until near the end of October, gently ripened the grapes into October.
This wine will be at its best between 2027 and 2038. If opening a young bottle, allow it to breathe for a while.
This Domaine is the culmination of the efforts of Mark Tarlov, Louis Michel Liger-Belair, and Pedro Parra.
