The Pico Maccario 2019 Barolo Cannubi is a richly concentrated wine with dark fruit and blackcurrant that is framed by oak spice and toast. The oak is a little too prominent, but the 2019 vintage is known for especially concentrated and complex fruit from a slightly cooler growing season. The effect is strong and tannic in terms of mouthfeel, and these qualities give the wine a little more runway for aging. Production is 1,600 bottles.
