Oremus
Oremus has a strong link with Spain and Spanish wines. In 1993, Vega Sicilia, producer of one of Spain's most iconic and sought-after red wines from Ribera del Duero, founded Oremus in the village of Tolcha with 115 hectares of some of the region's best land. The investment was significant and the intentions were serious: to produce wines that could compete with the best wines in the world.
Under the leadership of winemaker András Bácho and his son, Oremus produces some of the most consistently highly rated Aszú wines in the region, as well as a truly high-quality dry Furmint wine.
It is noteworthy that the Oremus vineyard itself, which gave the estate its name, is the same plot from which the first documented Aszú berries were harvested in the early 17th century.
