A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% each Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, Mondavi's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Vineyard Reserve delivers waves of black cherries, loam and spice. Full-bodied, it's rich and concentrated, with a long, velvety finish that adds hints of dark chocolate.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon The Reserve To Kalon Vineyard is the most complete of these 2022s from Robert Mondavi Winery. Dark red fruit, leather, dried herbs, graphite and cloves build in the glass, adding layers of textural resonance and body. Hints of black cherry, chocolate, licorice, new leather and a kiss of French oak build into the resonant finish.

Exudes classic Cabernet character, with blackberry fruit, graphite and a hint of new cedar on the nose. The full-bodied palate is defined by precise, fine-grained tannins and a polished structure. The quality and depth are exceptional, delivering a quintessential Mondavi Reserve. Though approachable now, the tannin structure is still quite pronounced, so waiting is advised. The blend contains 7% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged for 21 months in 100% new French oak. Winemaker Kurtis Ogasawara emphasises that they sought Cabernet Sauvignon with true ageworthy quality in 2022.
