Very dark in profile, with a deep well of açaí berry, blueberry and blackberry reduction flavors, supported by a well-inlaid graphite spine. A flash of alder on the finish and a late mineral note add range. Textbook Coombsville.
So much lead pencil shavings and graphite with dark fruit and cassis. Medium to full body with linear, fine tannins that run the length of the wine. A young wine with attractive texture and polish. Bright acidity. Try after 2025, but already delicious.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor Vineyard is the most reticent of the wines in this range. Blueberry, graphite, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice infuse this brooding Coombsville Cabernet with tons of personality. Searing tannins need time to soften, but the balance is there for that to happen.
