The 2022 Ladoix Blanc Les Gréchons 1er Cru offers orchard fruit, wild peach and light fennel scents on the nose. Moderate vigor with soupçon of reduction. The palate is fresh on the entry with peach skin and light Satsuma notes. It could do with a little more weight and grip on the finish, but there is plenty of freshness, and it should drink well over the next decade.
A distinctly cooler and airier nose reflects notes of Granny Smith apple, lemon rind and mineral reduction. There is even better volume to the beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that also conclude in a clean, dry and crunchy effort. This could use better depth but a few years of keeping should address that.
Currently racked to tank. Mid lemon colour. There is altogether more personality here, racy while retraining flesh as well. Excellent balance between the not too ripe fruit and the mineral acidity, plus length. It’s a super vineyard. Very persistent.
