The 2021 Alma is a red wine produced by Contador Benjamin Romeo by blending 91% Tempranillo and 9% Garnacha. Only 14,000 bottles were produced.
The wine in the glass conveys a sense of ripe fruit. The aroma is characterized by deep notes of plum, warm spices, and rich nuances of toasted oak.
The grapes from each plot were vinified separately before blending and then aged in oak barrels for 20 months. The presence of the oak is particularly pronounced. The wine is full-bodied and powerful, characterized by firm tannins that fill the mouth and a long, dry finish that pairs well with hearty dishes.
This wine is best enjoyed by 2034. If you plan to open it soon, decant it a few hours before serving.
