Robert Parker (91)

The 2019 Meursault Rouge is showing especially well, delivering a generous bouquet of raspberries, blackberries, warm spices and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with lively acids and powdery tannins, it will be unusually approachable young by the standards of a bottling that typically demands a little patience.

Vinous (90)

The 2019 Meursault Village Rouge has a not dissimilar bouquet to the Auxey-Duresses Rouge: red cherries, wild strawberry, a pastille-like quality. The palate is well balanced with a touch of white pepper from the 10-15% whole bunch, well defined, a vein of black pepper towards the finish.

Burghound (89)

A more deeply pitched and earthier nose is comprised by notes of both red and dark berries, newly turned earth and a hint of underbrush character. The attractively textured medium weight flavors possess very good density and only moderate rusticity on the even more complex and persistent finish. This is worth checking out plus it should repay 5 to 8 years of cellaring.
