Lemon and lime rind with sliced green melon. Some fresh lemongrass as well as white-pepper undertones. Medium-bodied, this has a tactile and energetic palate.
The 2024 Les Champs Libres, pure Sauvignon Blanc picked on September 10 and 11, takes a little coaxing from the glass to gradually reveal subtle white flower, beeswax and Anjou pear scents. The palate is well balanced with lime cordial and citrus fruit on the entry giving way to hints of Japanese yuzu and Clementine towards the poised and persistent finish. This is simply one of the best whites produced in 2024 in Bordeaux.
The 2024 Les Champs Libres brings another level of depth, complexity, and length. Ripe citrus, grapefruit, crushed stone, and a hint of fresh basil all shine here, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, integrated yet high acidity, and a great finish.
Grassy, elderflower, green apple, straw, hay, lemon balm. Lively and bright, a lovely dollop of lemon and vanilla and white flower yoghurt, cool and creamy with the acidity more in the background making this friendly and not too tart or austere. Gorgeous expression, lifted, forward, some juiciness with bitterness but just refined, calm and easy to drink. Excellent.
