Concentrated healthy crimson. Attractive, ripe leafiness on the nose (not meagre). Good balance though slightly muted.
Readers looking for a Médoc that over-delivers should check out the 2016 Château La Tour de By, a sleeper in this great vintage. Outstanding notes of cassis, spice box, dried tobacco, and nicely integrated oak flow to a medium to full-bodied effort that has a seamless, layered texture. I loved it.
