Robert Parker (91)

89-91
The 2024 Clinet, incorporating a significant percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, is one of the denser, more muscular wines of the vintage, offering up aromas of blackberries, vanilla pod and creamy oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and extracted, it's tannic and lactic, with a chewy, Bourbon-inflected finish.

James Suckling (96)

95-96
A full-bodied young red with blackberries, lemons, chewy tannins and a fresh finish. There’s an earthy, terroir-drive vibe at the end. Solid. Well done.

Jancis Robinson (16.50)

Dark crimson hue. Expressive nose and palate with dark- and red-fruit notes. Light to medium weight but the fruit bright and zesty. Tannins present behind, the finish firm and persistent. Balanced.

Vinous (94)

92-94
The 2024 Clinet is a dark, stylish wine. Black cherry, lavender, spice, licorice and blue-toned fruit are beautifully delineated. Dark and vibrant in the glass, with terrific depth, Clinet is super-expressive in 2024. Ronan Laborde bled the musts to bring the wine into the rich, textured style he seeks here. Clinet is a rare Pomerol that is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the Cabernet very much in evidence.

Decanter (93)

Delicate floral and inky aromas. Smooth and so supple, great energy, vibrancy and lift straight away. Cool and so silky but with slightly fleshy tannins joined by bright acidity that gives this a fun and expressive palate. Characterful and nicely balanced with salty tannins on the finish. Sleek and really well made with energy and focus. Really leans into the vintage but accessible and fresh. Totally moreish. A yield of 35hl/ha.

Falstaff (92)

Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Shy bouquet, black cherries, nougat, spices, restrained. Juicy, sweet texture, ripe plums, subtle acidity, chocolate nuances, subtle roasted aromas on the aftertaste, a powerful food wine.
