A fine effort from Cantemerle, the deep ruby/purple-colored 1996 exhibits an excellent mulberry, jammy cranberry, and currant-scented nose with floral characteristics and high quality vanillin. In the mouth, the wine reveals rich, sweet, ripe fruit on the attack, fine density, moderate tannin, and obvious balance.
