The 2020 Astrales is 100% Tempranillo from Anguix in Ribera del Duero and was aged for 18 months in 80% French and 20% American barrels. The winemaker, José Hidalgo, reports that 2020 was a textbook vintage in the area. Purple in hue. The nose offers bloody and herbal aromas along with mint, thyme and blackberry. Dry and muscular, the structured palate and nimble flow lend depth and intensity to this alluring, long-lasting red.
