Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill Vineyard opens with fragrant scents of lavender, red Morello cherries, fresh black currants and black raspberries, plus hints of dried Provence herbs, pencil shavings and iron ore. Medium-bodied, the palate is bright, refreshing and elegant, offering plenty of crunchy red and black fruit with a soft texture and mineral-tinged finish. This is great value for a wonderfully pure, authentic taste of Napa!
European style made wine, the 2018 is a magnificent new example of Togni.
This red is distinctive, with a racy savory streak buried amid the mix of sassafras, menthol, loganberry, sweet bay leaf and juniper flavors. Juicy and racy in feel, with a tingle of iron through the finish. Approachable, but cellaring will coax more out of this.
Younger vines. Fresh and lively with some real local character and a nice balsam streak. Very appetising.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill Vineyard is elegant and gracious in its first impression. Dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and crushed leaves give this mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon tons of aromatic presence to match its nuanced, understated personality. This classy, understated Cabernet will drink nicely with a few years in bottle. Aeration brings out a very pretty and expressive core of red/purplish fruit. In fact, I left this bottle open for several days, and just got better over time. It's a gorgeous second wine from the Togni family
