The 2015 Pinot Noir Slander (long-time readers who have followed my career will know my affection for that name when it comes to Pinot Noir) is sourced from multiple AVAs, but primarily from Pinot Noir vineyards in the Russian River Valley and much farther south in California Central Coast’s Santa Rita Hills. Aged 10 months in 40% new French oak, it is a hefty Pinot at 15.2% alcohol and a relatively small cuvée of 1,552 cases. It is well-priced for its quality; a delicious, soulful Pinot Noir with yummy red and blackcurrants, cherries, underbrush and tobacco leaf.
