Lastly, the Bodyguard By Daou releases are made by the Daou team and focus on value – and they succeed admirably! Based on 59% Petit Verdot and 41% Petite Sirah, the 2018 Proprietary Red is a ripe, sexy wine with loads of black fruits, espresso roast, chocolate, and a kiss of violets that give way to a full-bodied, balanced, impressively textured wine with silky tannins, a great finish, and just loads of character.
