The 2014 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is slightly (just a hair) more accessible at this very premature stage in its drinking life. The wine opens to broad and wide fruit flavors that include cassis, wild cherry and dried blueberry with savory tones of tar, licorice and tobacco. These elements are carefully stitched together within a tight and elaborate embroidery. The mouthfeel is silky and long, but there is also a very subtle element of softness that makes this wine taste smooth and rich on the palate.
Vivid and bright aromas of cherries and flowers such as roses. Full-bodied, powerful and structured. Large and broad-shouldered. A great wine. Tiny production due to hail.
