Enrico Serafino, founded in 1878 has been cultivating vineyards in Barolo, Langhe, Roero and Monferrato for over 140 years. Today, Enrico Serafino remains a family-owned business, committed to the Artisan way of making wine with respect for future generations and passion for details that have distinguished the winery from its inception.
Enrico Serafino hand-harvests only when the grapes achieve the perfect balance and transport them immediately to the cellar for fast and careful reception. The winery is 100% screw conveyor free to keep the berries intact, and the grapes are sorted by hand and they minimize the use of sulphites.
The vineyards span 60 hectares (partially contracted) in the UNESCO area of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato. The grape varieties are maily Barbera, Nebbiolo and Pinot Nero. For some Barolo wines, the vines are 60+ years old. Wines are aged on oak for Barolo and Barbaresco on large casks (2000+ liters) for 18+ months.
