Dried cranberry and forest floor aromas with some pepper, damp loam, dried herbs and a whiff of bell pepper. Crisp acidity, a low level of slightly astringent tannins and elegantly fruited bordering on leanness. Long finish.
Wonderful, both full and delicate, with a lot of lovely flavors wrapping around the taste buds. Concentrate on those wild berry, cherry, blackberry flavors, and enjoy their long ride.
A fine full bright colour with still a gorgeously balanced fruit on the nose. Quite spicy too. Delightfully balanced on the palate, on the lighter side, and transcending most people’s opinion of this competent vintage. It seems younger than the more favoured 2002, though does not quite hold up with time in the glass.
