There are two barrels of the 2017 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, one once-used, the other a new fût produced from staves air dried for 48 months. The wine is excellent, unfurling in the glass with notes of mandarin, citrus blossom, fresh pear, hazelnut and honeycomb. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny and supple, with excellent depth at the core, tangy acids and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a promising Bâtard.
