Residual secondary fermentation aromas dominate the nose and they extend to the palate as well though there is fine underlying tension to the detailed and lingering finale. This was frankly difficult to judge but my projected range should be reasonably accurate.
Vineyard on the Puligny border.
Much richer and quite buttery in style. Thicker texture, even tannic. Ponsot suggests wood-style notes from the vines’ roots. (MH)
Rather more colour than the village Meursault, and definitely showing a richer, warmer nose. Something is reminding me of oatmeal. There is significant weight on the palate, with some sense of oak, perhaps a little lactic. The chilled crisp precision of the finish is valuable.
