Aromas of nuts, orange zest, white flowers and crisp orchard fruit introduce the 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy wine that's fine-boned, pure and elegant.
Cask sample. Saline and refreshing with a solid undertow of savoury fruit. Good composition! (JR)
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a refined nose with wet limestone and Granny Smith apples. This is nicely detailed with beautifully integrated oak. The palate is very well-balanced, with fine acidity and gentle grip. It’s quite detailed towards the impressively precise finish. Excellent.
A whiff of exotic fruit is present on the quite spicy aromas of white peach, orange peel and equally broad-ranging floral scents. The medium weight flavors are rich to the point of being lush yet there is both good minerality and acidity supporting the sappy, palate staining and notably dry finale. This is a wine that could also be enjoyed young if desired though it should easily repay up to a decade of keeping.
Mid lemon yellow, with a concentrated bouquet that has less immediate charm than the Clos de la Garenne. However, there is significant weight on the palate, some yellow plums, while the acidity has an attractive mineral touch. My conclusion is that this Folatières is just very backward. Everything is there to make a great wine, and In the end the more exciting wine of two excellent Pulignys. Drink from 2032-2040.
