A ripe, cool and pure ultra-floral nose possesses a lovely array of pear, white peach and subtle spice wisps. There is both good volume and richness to the utterly delicious and surprisingly seductively textured flavors that exhibit very good refinement on the clean, dry and markedly stony finish that offers fine persistence if only average depth at present. Note that my predicted range assumes that more depth will gradually develop over time.
The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is another terrific wine from Germain, unwinding in the glass with scents of waxy citrus rind, lemon oil, smoke, hazelnuts, white flowers and struck flint. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, mineral and incisive, with a deep and tight-knit core, racy acids and a long, penetrating finish. This is the most reserved wine in the cellar and will reward patience, yet as with all these 2018s, it will be more accessible young than usual.
