Brownish wine red colour, not particularly dark. Burnt almonds on the nose, mineral traits, old leather, raisiny-corinthian sweet notes, dried rosemary, slightly sweaty. More and more facets emerge. I've never had it this good on the nose alone. On the palate, there are lots of malty tones, animal (horse stable), fine peat and iodine notes, mealy, concentrated extract. This is very rare in older Lafite wines. A marvellous, lasting, even gigantic bottle.
