Nose: starts on varnish and pear spirit – as expected. Gets cleaner, gingery… Incense, quince, dried longans, hot caramel, vanilla crème. Very, very nice. Mouth: oaky and vanilled but also quite perfumy – in a nice way. Dried pears, cigarette tobacco, fir honey, cough sweets. Perfect young grain with ‘not too much’ wood influence, excellently crafted. I like this version.
