James Suckling (97)

This stunning expression of the Juffer site shows the soul of the yellow peach. Only medium-bodied, but enormously concentrated and original. Staggeringly long finish that’s as vibrant and minerally as it is polished. Limited production. Drink or hold.

Vinous (95)

The 2024 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer GB, GB standing for Grosser Brauneberger rather than GG, is from a parcel at the bottom of the slope called Hasenläufer. A note of apricot is tender but exquisitely pure on the nose. The palate follows in the same vein, with a fine-boned body, real finesse and much freshness. All is in tune, enhanced by both salt and lemony brightness. The 2024 is wonderful. (Bone-dry)

The 2024er Brauneberger Juffer Riesling “GB” is bone-dry wine (with 2 g/l of residual sugar) made from 35-year-old vines in the Hasenläufer sector of the vineyard. It offers a great even though backward nose of white peaches, floral elements, whipped cream, and smoke. The wine is superbly silky on the palate and leaves a great feel of fresh orchard fruits and lemon in the superbly balanced finish. The acidity is superbly ripe and adds finesse to the glorious aftertaste. What a great success!
