The 1964 Banyuls has a similar bouquet to the 1965, but with a very subtle nutty element behind the red cherries, marmalade and star anise scents. The palate is tangy, fresh and vibrant with a lightly spiced entry and hints of white pepper and clove towards the persistent finish. I admire the precision and length of this Banyuls. It opens wonderfully in the glass.
