"Back in 2003 I was lucky enough to be given the chance to produce this liquid for the bicentenary. I really had an idea where I wanted to try and, for the bicentenary, try and recreate something that we maybe would have done over a 100 years before. So, I tried to get all the floor malted malt, and it was really really heavily peated. I just put it through the small stills in the distillery and then we matured it in in Bourbon barrels in Warehouse 1 which is right next to the sea. So I'm really happy with how it's turned out. Again, these smoke flavor profiles that we were talking about are going to be really dominant in this whisky compared to the other Laphroaigs that we've tasted tonight. So you should taste a very very different whisky as well. It's about 11 and a half maybe 11 and three quarters years old as well and it's bottled at 51.5% alcohol..." - John Campbell, Laphroaig Distillery Manager
